1. Overview

Datapio operates on a credit-based model. Credits are consumed as you make API requests. This Refund Policy describes under what circumstances you may request a refund or credit reimbursement, and how those requests are handled.

We aim to be fair and transparent. If you are unsatisfied with your purchase for any legitimate reason, we encourage you to contact us — we would rather resolve issues than lose a customer.

2. Purchased Credits

Credit purchases are non-refundable by default. However, we may issue refunds in the following circumstances:

  • Unused credits within 14 days: If none of the purchased credits have been consumed, you are eligible for a full refund within 14 days of purchase.
  • Partial refund: If some credits have been used, we may issue a prorated refund for the unused portion at our discretion.
  • Credits do not expire: If you are not ready to use your credits immediately, you do not need to request a refund — your credits remain available indefinitely.

3. Free Trial Credits

Free trial credits are provided at no cost to new accounts. They have no monetary value and are not eligible for refund, exchange, or cash redemption under any circumstances.

4. Service Issues and Technical Failures

If the Datapio API or platform experiences significant technical issues that result in failed API requests that were charged credits, or extended periods of unavailability that prevented you from using the Service, you may request a credit reimbursement or monetary refund. We evaluate such requests on a case-by-case basis and consider:

  • The nature and severity of the issue
  • Whether the issue was on our end (not caused by your implementation or third-party dependencies outside our control)
  • The credits or monetary value affected
  • Whether you reported the issue promptly

Credits incorrectly deducted due to a verified bug on our end will be restored to your account. Monetary refunds for service issues are granted at our sole discretion.

5. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will not be granted in the following cases:

  • Credits consumed by completed API requests, regardless of whether the data returned met your expectations.
  • Account suspension or termination resulting from a violation of our Terms of Service.
  • Requests submitted more than 30 days after the original purchase date (outside of verified service failure scenarios).
  • Purchases made by unauthorized third parties if you failed to keep your account credentials or API keys secure (you are responsible for account security per our Terms).
  • Duplicate or fraudulent refund requests.
  • Dissatisfaction with data quality or availability of publicly accessible social media data, as this is subject to the data practices and availability of third-party platforms outside our control.

6. How to Request a Refund

To submit a refund request, email us at [email protected] with the following:

  1. The email address associated with your Datapio account
  2. The date of purchase
  3. The credit pack purchased
  4. A clear description of the reason for your refund request

We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and provide a resolution within 5 business days. Complex cases (e.g., service issue investigations) may take up to 10 business days.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page. For material changes, we will provide notice via email or a prominent website notice at least 14 days in advance. Purchases made prior to a policy change are subject to the policy in effect at the time of purchase.
